About the QS Stars University ratings:

QS Stars is a rating system that provides a detailed look at an institution, enabling you to identify which universities are the best in the specific topics that you care about, like program strength, facilities, graduate employability, social responsibility, inclusiveness, and more.

QS Stars understands that universities are different to one another and therefore need to be assessed on a range of categories that recognize distinct strengths. It also recognizes that each student is looking for something different, and not all universities – even the highest ranked institutions – suit every student.

Using QS Stars when searching for your future program will help you understand which universities have performed well against a comprehensive list of indicators, allowing you to match your interests to the universities that are strong in the topics that matter to you.

In the methodology used for QS Stars, universities are evaluated in dozens of indicators across at least eight categories. After the assessment, universities are awarded with an overall Star result which ranges from 0 to 5+ Stars, depending on the number of points achieved through the evaluation.

Details

For teaching, UIBS scored the maximum points on student satisfaction with learning, and on faculty satisfaction with teaching.

“A key role of universities is to nurture its students’ learning and personal development.  Great teaching inspires today’s students to become tomorrow’s leaders.  In this category we consider areas such as the faculty-student ratio, student satisfaction, and the rate of further study.”

For academic development, UIBS scored the maximum points on ‘Learning Development Center’, faculty development programs and ‘member of university networks’.

“In this category we look at a university’s commitment to academic development for its students and faculty beyond teaching. This includes areas such as assistantships for students, the availability of faculty outside of the classroom, and the number of faculty participating in development programs.”

For internationalization, UIBS scored the maximum points on international diversity, international faculty and international students. 81% of students and 83% of faculty were counted as international, with a total of 88 nationalities represented among students!

“A university’s reputation on the global stage is more important than ever.  This is boosted by partnerships with international institutions and the recruitment of international faculty and students. In this category we consider areas such as international research collaborations, the number of international exchange students, and international diversity on campus.”

For online learning, UIBS scored the maximum points on student interaction.

“The Online Learning category is available for institutions which place a primary focus on online delivery or, in some cases, institutions that have residential programs and facilities but also have some programs available entirely online.  The objective is to look at a student’s learning environment, but from the perspective of an online student.”

Our graduate employment rate was calculated at 98%!

”Graduate employability depends on more than academic strength, focusing on readiness for work – the ability to working effectively in a multi-cultural team, deliver presentations, and to manage people and projects. Areas like the university’s reputation among employers, the graduate employment rate, and career service support are considered here.”

For program strength, our flagship MBA program earned the full 5 stars, ranking exceptionally well on accreditation, student satisfaction and graduate employment rate.

“The Program Strength category identifies an institution’s specialist program, looking at the competitiveness and strength of a specific, named program chosen by the institution from the degree programs on offer.”

Other maximum points were scored in gender balance and the faculty to student ratio. There are 23 professors per 100 students, or a student to faculty ratio close to 4:1!
