Several Undergraduate and Graduate students from all campuses recently returned from their week-long global study trip to New York.
Students were met by Marketing Director, Stephanie Kirschstein. During the trip students went to visit Siegel and Gale, a global brand strategy and design firm that developed the well-known NBA logo. Students also had the chance to visit the headquarters of the United Nations, where they learned about how all the different branches of the UN work. In addition to the company visits, all students had the chance to experience a full-access World Trade Center tour that included all the memorials of the 9/11 event. The visit was led by a New Yorker who was present during 9/11 and who provided the students with information about his first-hand experience of 9/11. The visit started at St. Paul’s chapel, continued to ground zero, the 9/11 memorial, the 9/11 museum, and finished at One World Observatory inside the newly-constructed World Trade Center.
During the final two days of the trip students attended a project management seminar hosted by Professor Philip Avello from our partner institution, MIM. Professor Avello is one of the contract services managers who helped with the construction of the new World Trade Center.
The trip concluded with a rooftop party which was held at the Sky Room in Manhattan, where students enjoyed a view of the entire midtown skyline.
