Throughout the spring quarter several extra-curricular activities were organized throughout our campus network.
During the undergraduate Destination Management course, taught by Professor Edgar Barroso at our campus in Madrid, students had the pleasure of receiving guest speaker Diego Sáinz, Director of Kora Trek, a travel agency that specializes in adventure travel and expeditions. On a separate occasion, students also went on a company visit to the El Corte Inglés – Castellana flagship store in Madrid and met with the customer service manager, who explained to them the differences in customer spending and the store’s marketing practices to introduce new brands in the local market, among other topics.
Meanwhile at our campus in Zurich, students had the pleasure of welcoming Mr. Rahul Sharma, the Global Head of Executive Learning and Development at Novartis. During the Personnel Training and Development course, taught by Professor Dr. Gijs van Bussel, Mr. Sharma gave a guest lecture to the students on executive learning and development. Students were also invited to join him at Novartis in Basel to learn more about their human resource management processes. Together with local Academic Coordinator and Professor Lorenza Caenazzo, students also visited the Y&R group in Zurich, a marketing firm that focusses its services on performance and content marketing, brand valuators and brand elevation. It was explained to students in detail how advertising campaigns are formed and the issues the firm faces.
Students from our Antwerp and Brussels campuses were guided to the well-known local “De Koninck” brewery in Antwerp by our local Campus Coordinator Mrs. Linda Wyninckx. The Koninck brewery is the last existing brewery in the city and has existed since 1833. Students were able to tour the brewery and see the different theme rooms that showcase the entire history of Antwerp as a beer city and the whole brewing process.
