Marc Van Gastel is a Senior Advisor at the Department of Economics of the Flemish Government, Senior Advisor at the Cabinet of the Vice-Minister President and Flemish Minister of Economics, Entrepreneurship, Science and Innovation, and previous Director of ICT and New Media at the Antilope Group (Belgium). Previous teaching positions include e-Business seminars at the University of Antwerp Management School (UAMS), Solvay Business School (Brussels), Catholic University of Louvain and the Executive MBA program from the Maastricht School of Management at the University of South China. Along with a Master of Science in Biochemistry, a postgraduate certificate in Economics and a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Marc Van Gastel has an extensive Curriculum Vitae showing a strong professional and academic background.
Other guest speakers included one of the head researchers from the local Yahoo research center in Barcelona and the Media Business Development Manager at the FC Barcelona football club.
