We are proud to announce that our extension campus in Amsterdam was recently certified for inclusion in the CRKBO, or “Centraal Register Kort Beroepsonderwijs” in Dutch, following an audit in September 2017.
During the CRKBO audit, various documents and the systematic communication of the quality requirements were reviewed. The requirements are based on topics such as general organization, faculty members, information provision, terms and conditions, service execution, course examination and complaint handling. For those interested to learn more, the audit report is available for review with our on-campus staff members upon request.
“Achieving CRKBO certification was to be expected because of the similarity of the requirements with those of the NRTO (Nederlandse Raad voor Training en Opleiding)”, says Mr. Thierry Kirschstein, Managing Director, who initiated the CRKBO, as well as previously also the related “NRTO keurmerk” certification processes in the Netherlands. “We are proud of having achieved CRKBO certification in Amsterdam. This will allow us to build the school’s resources for its future development due to the school now being exempt from the local value-added-tax (VAT) on education.”
CRKBO certification is indeed a requirement for VAT exemption in the Netherlands. We are therefore no longer required to charge VAT on our courses and programs to students at our campus in Amsterdam. We are also keen on continuing our mission to obtain other types of recognition in the Netherlands in the future and believe that an important milestone was reached with the CRKBO certification today, as well as with the “NRTO keurmerk” in the past academic year.
